The Property Masters designs children's bedrooms across Dubai that are safe, hard-wearing and built to grow with the child — not just photogenic. We plan safety-first detailing for high-rise apartments, durable washable finishes, generous accessible storage, a proper study zone, and a neutral base that adapts from toddler to teen. The brief is practical first and playful second. Each project is priced individually, with an indicative quote after a free site visit, subject to +5% VAT.
Adult rooms are designed for how they look; a child's room has to survive how it's used. The priorities are safety, durability, storage and adaptability — and only then the fun, themed layer on top. A kids' room that's beautiful but impractical fails within months: spills stain it, the child outgrows it, and there's nowhere to put anything. We design the other way round, building in the practical foundations first so the room works for years, then layering personality on top in ways that are easy to change.
Most Dubai families live in apartments, often high up, so safety is the starting point, not an afterthought. We build in:
These aren't extras — they're the baseline for a child's room done properly.
Children are hard on a room, and Dubai's dust adds to it, so we specify finishes built to be cleaned, not babied. That means wipeable, scrubbable wall paint rather than delicate matte, hard-wearing tile or quality flooring that handles spills and toys, and stain-resistant, easy-clean fabrics. The test for every surface is simple: can it be wiped down or cleaned in seconds? If not, it doesn't belong in a kids' room.
A tidy kids' room is one where putting things away is easy for the child, not just possible for the parent. We design low, accessible storage — open bins, low shelves and toy chests the child can reach — alongside higher closed storage for the things parents manage. Under-bed drawers, built-in wardrobes and vertical storage make the most of a small apartment room. The goal is a room a child can tidy themselves, which is the only kind that stays tidy.
As the child grows, a dedicated study and homework zone becomes essential. We plan a desk at the correct height, a supportive chair, good task lighting and storage for books and supplies, positioned for natural light where possible and set apart from the sleep and play areas so it reads as a focused space. Designing it in from the start avoids the cramped, retrofitted corner that never quite works.
Dubai apartment bedrooms are often compact and sometimes shared, so we use vertical space and multi-function furniture: loft and bunk beds that lift sleeping up and free the floor for play or study below, built-in wardrobes that use full ceiling height, and multi-purpose pieces that do two jobs. Custom built-in joinery, sized to the room, almost always beats freestanding furniture for fitting more into a small space.
The most cost-effective kids' room is one you don't have to redo every few years. We build it on a neutral, timeless base — flooring, wardrobes and walls that suit any age — then add the playful, age-specific layer through bedding, decals, removable wall art and accessories that are cheap and quick to swap. That way a toddler's room becomes a child's, then a teen's, with simple changes rather than a full refit.
Kids' rooms vary from a single bedroom refresh to a fully fitted shared room, so we price each individually. After a free site visit we give an indicative quote covering design, joinery, finishes and storage, subject to +5% VAT. A children's room sits within our full interior design service and can be delivered as part of a complete fit-out. Storage and wardrobe detail ties into our wardrobe design work, and for cost context see our guide on how much interior design costs in Dubai.
