The Equipment a Dubai Pool Needs
Each part has a job, and getting the combination right is what keeps a pool clear, comfortable and cheap to run.
Pumps
The heart of the pool — the pump circulates water through the filter and back. Correct sizing matters: too small and the water doesn't turn over enough; too large and you waste energy. We fit efficient, appropriately-sized pumps and replace old, noisy or failing units.
Filters (sand & cartridge)
The filter removes debris and fine particles so the water stays clear:
- Sand filters — robust and low-maintenance, cleaned by backwashing; a common choice for villa pools.
- Cartridge filters — finer filtration with no backwash water waste; cleaned by removing and rinsing the cartridge.
Dubai's dust load makes filtration and regular backwash/clean especially important.
Chlorinators & salt systems
How the pool is sanitised:
- Traditional chlorination — chlorine dosed into the water.
- Salt chlorination (saltwater) — a salt cell generates chlorine from dissolved salt, for softer-feeling water and steadier levels with less manual dosing. Indicative salt-system install ~AED 3,000–6,000.
Heaters & chillers — essential for Dubai
This is the most Dubai-specific decision:
- Chillers — essential for the summer. From roughly May to September an uncooled pool can sit at bath-water temperatures. A pool chiller (or a combined heat-and-chill unit) keeps it refreshing. Indicative chiller supply/install ~AED 12,000–30,000 depending on the unit.
- Heaters / heat pumps — keep the pool comfortable on cooler winter evenings. Indicatively ~AED 8,000–35,000 depending on the unit.
Together, heating and cooling are what make a Dubai pool genuinely usable year-round.
LED lighting
Underwater LED lighting transforms the pool at night and is low-energy and long-lasting. Lighting (and basic automation) is indicatively ~AED 3,000–15,000+ depending on the number of lights and features.
Automation & controllers
Pool automation lets you control filtration, heating/chilling, lighting and dosing from a panel or phone, and can optimise running cost. Indicative standalone automation ~AED 5,000–15,000.
Skimmers, covers & accessories
- Skimmers — draw surface debris into the filtration before it sinks; baskets are cleared at each maintenance visit.
- Covers — reduce evaporation (significant in Dubai), keep debris out, and improve safety. Automatic and safety covers are indicatively ~AED 4,000–25,000+ depending on type and size.

Brands & What We Do
We work with established, widely-supported pool equipment brands so spares and service are easy to source in the UAE — and we match the equipment to your pool rather than pushing a single make. Across all of it, we provide a supply + install + maintain service:
- Source the right equipment, correctly sized for your pool and the Dubai climate.
- Install it properly, integrated with the rest of the pool's systems.
- Maintain it under an AMC, with repair and replacement when needed — see the maintenance and services pages.
If you're building a new pool, the pool cost calculator lets you add equipment like chillers, heating and saltwater to an indicative build estimate. To upgrade or replace equipment on an existing pool, the next step is a short inspection so we can recommend and price the right kit for your pool.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a pool chiller in Dubai?
For comfortable swimming through the summer, almost always. From roughly May to September an uncooled Dubai pool can reach bath-water temperatures and stop being refreshing, so a chiller — or a combined heat-and-chill unit — is the most Dubai-specific piece of pool equipment. Indicative chiller supply and install is around AED 12,000–30,000 depending on the unit, ex-VAT (add 5% VAT), confirmed after inspection.
Sand filter or cartridge filter — which is better for a Dubai pool?
Both work well; it's a trade-off. Sand filters are robust and low-maintenance, cleaned by backwashing, and are a common choice for villa pools. Cartridge filters give finer filtration with no backwash water waste but need the cartridge removed and rinsed. Given Dubai's dust load, regular cleaning matters with either type. We recommend the right filter based on your pool size and usage.
What's the difference between a salt system and a chlorine pool?
A saltwater pool uses a salt cell to generate chlorine from dissolved salt, giving softer-feeling water and steadier chlorine levels with less manual dosing; the system installs indicatively for around AED 3,000–6,000. A traditional chlorine pool has chlorine dosed in directly — lower upfront cost but more hands-on. We supply, install and maintain both, and can convert a chlorine pool to saltwater.
Do you sell pool equipment, or do you install it too?
We're a supply-and-install service backed by maintenance, not an online checkout. That means we source the right equipment for your pool, size it correctly for the Dubai climate, install it integrated with the rest of the pool's systems, and maintain it under an AMC with repair or replacement as needed. Matching and fitting the equipment properly is what makes it perform and last.
Can I add automation to control my pool from my phone?
Yes. Pool automation lets you control filtration, heating and chilling, lighting and dosing from a panel or phone, and can help optimise running cost. Indicative standalone automation is around AED 5,000–15,000, and LED lighting with basic automation runs around AED 3,000–15,000+, ex-VAT (add 5% VAT). The exact figure depends on your pool's equipment and how much you want to automate, confirmed after inspection.
