What we do and who it is for

We make and fit worktops for new kitchens, kitchen remodels and straight replacements. Most customers are villa and apartment owners updating a kitchen, landlords preparing a unit for a new tenant, and clients whose modular kitchen or kitchen remodelling already has the cabinets in place.

Our part is the surface itself: advice on material, a laser template, fabrication in the workshop and clean fitting. We also make island tops, vanity tops and surfaces for outdoor kitchens. Because the same team can handle the cabinets, the worktop and the splashback, the measurements and finishes stay in one conversation.

Choosing the material

• Engineered quartz. Crushed quartz bound with resin. It is non-porous, so it needs no sealing, resists stains and bacteria, and comes in a wide range of colours, including marble-look patterns. It is the usual choice for a busy family kitchen. The limit is heat: a hot pan can scorch the resin, so use a trivet.
• Granite. A natural stone, and every slab is different. It is very hard and tolerates heat well. It is porous, so it is sealed at installation and again from time to time.
• Marble. The most striking look, and it stays cool to the touch. It is softer than the other options and reacts to acids such as lemon, wine and vinegar, which can etch the surface. It suits a statement island, or an owner who accepts a lived-in patina.
• Porcelain or sintered stone. Fired at very high temperature into a dense, non-porous slab. It is heat resistant, scratch resistant and stable in sunlight, which makes it a good fit for outdoor kitchens and full-height splashbacks.

We match the material to how you cook and clean, not only to how the slab looks in a sample.

Edges, thickness and details

The edge sets the character of the kitchen.

• Square or eased edges give a modern, minimal line.
• Mitred edges build up the front so the slab reads as thick and solid.
• Bevelled, bullnose and ogee profiles soften the line for classic or transitional kitchens.

We talk through whether a thinner slab with a mitred build-up or a solid thicker slab suits your design better. Sink type, drainer grooves and hob cut-outs are also settled here, before fabrication starts.

Dubai considerations

Dubai kitchens work hard. Cooking is frequent, surfaces are cleaned often, and hard water leaves marks on dark, glossy finishes. Natural stone is porous, so the sealing routine matters more in a busy kitchen than in a showroom. Sunlight is the other factor. A kitchen with large west-facing glass, or an outdoor kitchen, puts the surface in strong light for much of the day, so we point you to UV-stable materials for those spots. In apartment towers, slabs have to travel by lift and through narrow openings, which affects where joins fall. We plan that at template stage.

How the job runs

1. Site visit. We look at the kitchen, the cabinets and the services, and talk through materials and edges.
2. Quote. You receive a fixed quote after that visit. We never give a final price before the real, installed kitchen has been measured.
3. Laser template. We measure the fitted cabinets on site, not the drawings, and mark the cut-outs for sink, hob and tap.
4. Fabrication. The slab is cut to the template, edges are profiled and polished, and cut-outs are reinforced.
5. Fitting. The worktop is fitted on proper support and levelled, joins are bonded tightly, and natural stone is sealed.
6. Handover. We clean up and explain care for your particular material.

An inaccurate template is the biggest cause of poor joins and misaligned sinks, which is why we template first and fabricate second.

What drives the cost

We do not publish a rate per square metre, because the same kitchen can be specified many ways. The main factors are:

• the material and the range within it, since a premium designer slab sits well apart from a basic one;
• the total area, including islands, returns and upstands;
• the edge profile and any mitred build-up;
• the number and type of cut-outs, such as undermount sinks and hobs;
• the position of joins and how difficult access is for delivery;
• whether sealing, a splashback or removal of the old worktop is included.

The quote itemises each of these, with VAT shown separately.
